OUR OUTREACH Jesus tells us that we are to reach out to others,
spread the gospel, and show love and compassion to all. We try in a variety of ways to
reach out to our community and world. |

THE COMMUNITY GARDEN The Community Garden is
located behind the church shed and is a part of the Equal Ground Community Gardens initiative that
promotes the importance of allowing all people to grow their own food. The
garden is maintained by residents of the community and produce from the
gardens is available for use by members of the community. To learn more about
becoming a volunteer or to learn more about what is available in the garden,
contact us at contact@mppchurch.ca or find us on facebook at Mount Pleasant
Presbyterian Church. |

WALK
FOR ALZHEIMER’S Before
amalgamating with Mount Pleasant, Knox Presbyterian Church used their coffee
hour to collect donation for the Alzheimer’s Society’s Coffee Break. We have
carried on this tradition, with money donated at
coffee hour in the first half of the year going to sponsor our church members
who participate in the Walk for Alzheimer’s. We are grateful to the
Alzheimer’s Society for the care and services they offer to our senior
members. |
|
|
OUR SPONSORED CHILD In the second
half of the year, the money that is donated during our coffee hour supports our
sponsored child in the developing world. Our focus over several decades has
been on the survival, safety and education of girls. Our current sponsored
child lives in the West Bank. |

|
COMMUNION SERVICES AND THE BRANT FOODBANK On the first
Sunday of every month, those who are able are invited to bring donation for
the Brant Foodbank. Also, the loose collection on all Communion Sundays is
donated to a charity chosen by the Church Session. |
|
|
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD Every November,
as Christmas approaches, people are invited to prepare shoeboxes full of
gifts to be sent to children in need around the world. This is a project run
by Samaritan’s Purse. |

OUR CHURCH GROUNDS We
have tried to make our church grounds a place of bounty, beauty, peace and
memory with our Memorial Rose Garden and the Mount Pleasant Memorial Forest.
We are grateful to the church members who so diligently maintain the grounds
for the benefit of the community. |

OUR ELECTRIC CARILLON Our electric
carillon plays every day at noon and at 7:00 p.m. The evening performance
began in 2020 as a tribute to frontline workers during the Covid shutdown. At
the request of the community, the carillon continues to play one song every
evening to provide peace and solace to our village. |
