Living things are among the best of tributes because they turn grief into growth.

THE MEMORIAL ROSE GARDEN

The site of the former church manse was turned into a Memorial Garden in May 2002. The garden features a central rose garden. Each rose is dedicated to the memory of a deceased loved one. Other memorials in the garden include a sundial and park benches.

THE MOUNT PLEASANT MEMORIAL FOREST

Trees are a symbol of life. Historically, their benefits to humans are well known. They regulate temperature, improve the soil, prevent erosion and provide a habitat for wildlife. However, their most important function today is their ability to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Planting trees is the cheapest way to tackle climate change. Each tree planted in the Memorial Forest is more than a memory of the person it represents. It is a promise to future generations that they too will grow up on a thriving and healthy planet.
